Winsor & Newton!

Wow! I am so thrilled and honoured to have been approached by Winsor & Newton, 'the World's finest art materials supplier' to be featured in their forthcoming launch of their new ARTIST''S ACRYLIC range!

Winsor & Newton have been established since 1832 and has an amazing history, and I felt very priviledged to be walking in the footsteps of some very famous artists when I spent time at their factory and Head office in harrow, Middlesex.

The new Artist's acrylic paints are so FABULOUS! Rich and creamy with the most amazingly vibrant colours! They really are a joy to use and have added so much colour intensity to my work.

If you look at the Winsor & Newton web site www.winsornewton.com you will see that they have created a micro site for me and the other featured artists. This is going live any day now, very exciting!

Working on paintings for Ingleside

Brrrr! Goodness it is so cold! BUT SO BEAUTIFUL with the frost everywhere! Iam going to wrap up warm and get out there sketching and taking photographs. Saw aome gorgeous pics by photographer, Garry Whitikar this week - stunning work.

I am currently working on two contemporary 'flower'paintings for the cinema room at Ingleside House in Cirencester, and they are almost complete, so hopefully they will be hung next week. I have used lots of texture in the petals, and a wet in wet technique for the petals, so the overall effect is very pleasing am I am looking forward to seeing them in place.

Ingleside House is the most beautiful building and the renovation work that has been carried out on it is so elegant. Check out www.inglesidecirencester.com for the new website.
The painting of Elsie in the green dress will be hung in the conference room.

Painting fields of gold

Autumn is my favourite time of year, and I find it so inspiring. Every drive through the Cotswold countryside is breath-taking in September, golden fields with criss cross tractor lines and freshly cut bales of hay, chocolate coloured fields that have just been ploughed and the ever changing leaves on the trees and hedgerows - just beautiful!

Probably needless to say then, that I am currentlty working on some paintings of Autumn fields! I'm really enjoying it and will post some photos of the finished paintings on the site soon.
I wish it could stay September all year long....

Cornfields and late summer colours

Wow! Aren't the colours in the Englilsh Countryside fantastic at the moment?
The Cornfields with their rolls of hay, along with the slightly changing greens of the trees are just crying out to be painted!

I love this time of year - the late summer sunshine has such a golden glow, although there are a lot of clouds again this year. Great for painting but hardly summer skies!

Moonlit Loch and Bodmin Moor sold today

I was delighted to sell two of my paintings to a lovely couple in Woodmancote today.
They have the most beautiful cottage, and I can't wait to see the framed paintings in situ!

Horses, cats and flowers

I'm busy working on a couple of portraits at the moment - A lovely black cat, with red flowers in the background, and a beautiful chestnut mare.
I've also been commissioned to do a semi abstract painting of a red flower, so that will be an interesting challenge and good fun!

I'm also looking forward to painting some scenes from my trip to Africa, which included an a hot air balloon trip over the african bush - awesome! I have some fantastioc wildlife shots too, so expect a couple of elephant pics!
